1. When is Town Hall open?: Town Hall is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Town Hall is closed on weekends and the following holidays:
- New Year's Day
- President's Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Veteran's Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Friday after Thanksgiving
- Christmas Day
- The day before or after Christmas (depending upon the day of the week which Christmas falls)

1. Do I need a license for my pets?: In Platteville you are required to license your dogs. Cats and other pets do not need a license. To license your dog, bring information showing the expiration date of your dog's most recent rabies vaccination to Town Hall. Dog licenses cost $10 if your pet has been spayed or neutered or $25 if it has not. The Platteville Municipal Code allows up to three dogs at a residence. Kennels require additional licenses. 2. Do I need a license to have a business in Platteville?: Yes, any entity that conducts a business, trade or profession (unless exempt - see 6-1-20(b) of the Platteville Municipal Code for details) within the limits of the Town of Platteville is required to have a license - whether that business is required to collect sales tax or not. For more information, contact the Town Clerk's Office.

1. Who will shovel the snow off my sidewalk?: It is the home owner's or renter's responsibility to clear the snow from their sidewalks. Local Code allows 24 hours after a storm to complete this task.

2. Why do I have to pay a sidewalk maintenance fee if I do not have a sidewalk in front of my house?: The sidewalk maintenance fee pays not only to maintain existing sidewalks but to install new sidewalks or connect existing walks that have large gaps between concrete sections. Each year Town staff and engineers prioritize existing walks in need of repair, and plan the most cost effective way to add sidewalks to the existing network of walks in Platteville. If your walk is deteriorating and in need of repair, please report that to Town Hall.

1. Can I pay with a credit card?: You can pay utility bills over the phone with a credit or debit card by calling 970-785-2245.

2. What are these "other" charges on my utility bill?: Utility accounts bill for several things:
- Actual use of water and sewer
- Fees to maintain infrastructure (pipes, meters, valves, existing street lighting, existing and planned sidewalks)

Some residents also choose to have their trash service charged to their utility bill for convenience.

3. When is my utility bill due?: Utility bills are calculated on or before the 1st Tuesday of each month and are due on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Those accounts that remain unpaid are disconnected on the 4th Tuesday of each month. A fee may be assessed to reconnect a utility account that has been disconnected due to non-payment.

4. When will my trash be picked up?: Monday trash collections include the subdivisions of:
- Homestead
- Rodgers Farm
- Reed
- Sholdt
- Garden Court

All other locations are picked up on Friday. B&C Refuse is the current service provider for trash collection within town limits. For holiday collection schedules, you may contact them at 970-785-2908.

5. Who services the electric for residents in Platteville?: Electric service in Platteville is provided by Xcel Energy. You may contact Xcel Energy by dialing 800-895-4999 or through their website.

6. Who services the gas for residents in Platteville?: Gas service is provided by Atmos Energy. You may Contact Atmos Energy by dialing 888-286-6700 or by visiting their customer service department website.
