The Town of Platteville was recognized by the nonprofit Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree City USA community for its commitment to urban forestry. It is the 9th year Platteville has earned this national designation.

The Tree City USA committee consists of four members, Mayor Bonnie Dunston, Carole Schleif, & Hope Morris and Public Works Director (David Brand).
The Christmas Tree was dedicated on August 15th during our 2009 Harvest Daze Celebration.
Platteville, one of the oldest communities in Weld County, occupies land that was once the hunting grounds of nomad tribes and Cheyenne Indians. It is located on the east bank of the South Platte River and enjoys a rich history vital to the development of the region.
